This collection contains portraits of ADA Presidents presented alongside a brief biography and historical highlights of their term year, as proposed by ADA President Frank Schuler.
As president of the Association in 1977, Dr. Frank F. Shuler, proposed that ADA past presidents be recognized by a display of their photographic portraits in a printed and bound album in the board room at the Association’s headquarters building. The Board of Trustees later approved the plan and the book was printed in an edition of several copies.
The album portraits with accompanying biography and historical highlights were then published individually in a regular monthly series in The Journal of the American Dental Association from 1979 to 1985.
