Abstract
Doctor Garrett, of Atlanta, became the one-hundred-and-third president of the Association at the 1966 meeting in Dallas. The House of Delegates adopted the American Dental Association Dental Health Program for Children and established the Council on Dental Care Programs. Doctor Garrett, a general practitioner, served the Association as a member of the Board of Trustees for two terms and as a member of the House of Delegates for many years. He was also chairman of the Council on Scientific Session and the Section on Operative Dentistry. Doctor Garrett was president of the Georgia Dental Association, the Atlanta Dental Society, and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He was a professor of oral pathology and practice administration at Emory University School of Dentistry. He was born in Georgia in 1899 and died in 1977.
