Abstract
Dentistry continues to evolve rapidly, and leadership is essential among recent dental graduates. A majority of newly graduated dentists are thrust into the workforce and expected to be experts in all aspects of patient care, including staff, patients, technology, dental equipment, and more. Additionally, they generally manage full patient schedules and conceal the respective stresses. Young oral healthcare providers face many challenges and often lack leadership training to effectively balance their many roles and responsibilities. This article introduces the characteristics of effective young dentist leaders, the challenges facing recent graduates, and strategies for leadership development.
