The archival Advances in Oral Surgery collection contains abstracts of then-current articles related to all phases of oral surgery published in hundreds of journals throughout the world.
"Reports which originally appeared in many languages have been abstracted to provide the reader with significant new information. The original contributions appeared in journals devoted to clinical dentistry, dental research, medicine, and basic sciences. The scope of the abstracts published is deliberately broad so that many developments which might be overlooked by the practicing clinician have been included...
Users of Advances in Oral Surgery should recognize that the abstracts were written to provide information only. No judgments are made in this volume, or in Oral Research Abstracts, about the value or the validity of any of the reported findings... We hope that Advances in Oral Surgery and additional books in the Advances series in other clinical specialties of dentistry will be useful to teachers and students alike. "
The first volume of Advances in Oral Surgery was prepared in response to requests by potential users.
