Abstract
James Bennett III, a University of Michigan dental student, has been awarded the inaugural $10,000 Karen Burgess Memorial Scholarship by the MDA Foundation. Bennett, from St. Joseph, demonstrates strong leadership through his involvement with the Student National Dental Association and various dental school organizations. Inspired by his parents' community service, he plans to pursue orthodontics and establish mentorship programs focusing on leadership, cultural sensitivity, and financial literacy for new dental graduates.
