Abstract
Each month, The Journal of the Michigan Dental Associationprovides news, information, and features about Michigan dentistry to our state's oral health community and the MDA's 6,200+ members. It stands as the primary publication reaching Michigan dentists. The November issue includes:
- Clinical Feature on discontinuation of lead apron use for dental radiology
- An introduction to the MDA Team and how they can be contacted to serve specific member needs
- A Back Page article on beginning practice and family
- Regular Departments: New Dentist Column, Updates on the MDA Foundation, MDA Services, Dentistry and the Law, Staff Matters
This month we welcome Dr. Brett Kessler back to our pages, in an article originally published in the Journal of the Colorado Dental Association. Kessler is the ADA’s 2024-25 president, having assumed his duties last month during the ADA House of Delegates meeting in New Orleans. Kessler is no stranger to Michigan dentistry— he formerly practiced here, and has spoken often of the help he received as a new dentist through the MDA’s Health and Well-Being Committee. This article carries on that theme, describing an experience he had and the assistance he was able to obtain through a similar member program in his home state of Colorado. Although the article refers to the CDA, the same type of help is available through the Michigan Dental Association. Visit michigandental.org to learn more.
