AI enhances diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical outcomes, but its adoption requires both federal and state-level regulatory approval. The document highlights key legislative trends, including transparency in AI-driven healthcare decisions, restrictions on AI usage to ensure patient welfare, and the need for human oversight in clinical decision-making. Examples of state-level AI-related healthcare legislation from Virginia, California, Maryland, and other states are provided, showcasing diverse approaches to regulating AI in healthcare.
