Abstract
This pilot study evaluated the effects of the Voutia™ hydration system on xerostomia (dry mouth) and its impact on patients' quality of life. Fifteen patients with confirmed xerostomia used the device for six weeks. Results showed significant improvements in quality of life measures, including the Oral Health Impact Profile and Xerostomia Inventory scores. Stimulated salivary flow increased significantly, while unstimulated salivary flow showed improvement but was not statistically significant. The study concluded that the Voutia™ system effectively improved oral hydration and quality of life for patients with dry mouth, with no adverse events reported. Further studies with larger cohorts and longer durations are recommended.
