Abstract
The Virginia Dental Association’s Communications Team uses media relations to advocate for the dental profession and oral health initiatives. They provide media training to help members and leaders effectively communicate with reporters, lawmakers, and patients. Key strategies include keeping messages simple, relying on key messages, using a problem-solution framework, and practicing through role-playing and mock interviews. These techniques ensure clear, focused, and persuasive communication.
