Abstract
The Wise MOM Project, supported by approximately 60 volunteers from the VCU School of Dentistry, provides essential dental care to underserved rural communities. This initiative not only addresses significant unmet oral health needs but also offers dental students valuable service-learning experiences. Third-year dental student Madelyn Lawrence, who grew up in a small town with limited dental access, highlights the project's impact on both patients and volunteers. The event fosters a sense of community and purpose, encouraging continued volunteerism to improve access to dental care. For more information on volunteering, visit the VDA Foundation's website.
