Abstract
Informed consent in dental practice involves clear communication between dentists and patients about treatment risks, benefits, costs, and outcomes. It is rooted in the patient's right to self-determination and requires the dentist to present information objectively and holistically. Ethical practice demands that treatment recommendations should not be influenced by financial pressures or personal gain but should focus on the patient's best interests. Effective informed consent enhances the patient-clinician relationship and supports ethical decision-making in dental care.
