Abstract
The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) has achieved significant legislative successes in 2022 and 2023, including a 30% increase in Dental Medicaid Reimbursement fees and the passage of bills allowing dentists to use Botox for cosmetic purposes and improving access to mental health services for dental professionals. The VDA is now advocating for a dental loss ratio policy in Virginia, similar to a successful referendum in Massachusetts. Dentists are encouraged to contribute to the VDA Tooth PAC, engage with local legislators, and support candidates who prioritize dental health issues. The upcoming 2023 elections will see significant turnover in the Virginia General Assembly, making active involvement crucial.
