GROWTH AND ADVANCEMENT THROUGH CHANGE
Abstract
The VCU School of Dentistry has revamped its curriculum to provide a more clinically focused experience, starting with the class of 2024. Key changes include accelerated preclinical courses in fixed prosthetics during the D1 year and the introduction of an Advanced Restorative and Digital Dentistry course in the D2 year. D2 students also gained more clinic time by shadowing and assisting D4 students. These changes have resulted in students being better prepared and more comfortable in clinical settings, enhancing their overall educational experience.
