This article explores the challenges of providing oral health care in long-term care facilities, emphasizing the complexities faced by caregivers in managing oral hygiene for elderly residents. It discusses the importance of caregiver education and training, the time constraints involved, and a solution involving dental team members visiting weekly to provide assisted oral hygiene, highlighting the value of dental hygiene students in improving patient care and fostering professional development.
