Abstract

The article discusses changes in Colorado employment law brought by the Protecting Opportunities and Workers’ Rights (POWR) Act, that went into effect August 6, 2023. The POWR Act redefines harassment standards, eliminates the necessity for severe or pervasive conduct to claim harassment, outlines employer defense requirements and modifies disability accommodation criteria in Colorado. Employers must adapt by implementing comprehensive anti-discrimination programs, updating policies, and ensuring thorough documentation and training to comply with the new regulations.
