Dentistry in the USA from the Perspective of an Internationally Trained Dentist
Abstract
Dentistry, to me, has always represented more than a profession. Dentistry is a universal language that unites science, expertise and compassion, irrespective of national boundaries. My journey in dentistry started in India back in 2015, when I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Gujarat University. Since then and on my journey, I practiced dentistry in different dental settings including both public and private dental sectors where I learned to blend clinical skills with empathy and compassion. From my experiences, I realize that dental care not only improves smiles but also improves the quality of our patients’ lives.
