Abstract

As a first-generation aspiring dentist, I felt very alone when applying to dental school. I had no family members in dentistry and relied heavily on the advice of fellow pre-dental students and upperclassmen throughout my undergraduate career. Their guidance became the foundation of my understanding of what it took to pursue dentistry.
