Diagnostic Challenge

    Abstract

    We present a case of a 49-year-old female presenting with recurrent palatal ulcerations for 9 months. Patient reports persistent painful blisters on the hard palate, which develop in the same location every time, especially when they are stressed or feeling run down. Images taken during the two most recent episodes show initial vesicles that later rupture after two to three days to form erosions/ulcerations (Figure 1). A biopsy is performed to obtain a definitive diagnosis due to the recurrent nature of the ulcerations.
