Mineral Concentration and Nutritional Value of Water from Public Fountains Along the Monon Trail
Abstract
Minerals such as calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), and potassium (K), are inorganic substances of which many are essential for the human body as they play a role in the physiochemical and metabolic processes (e.g., maintaining the acid-base balance, immune functions, and regulation of body fluids). Another important mineral is fluoride (F), which is used in the prevention of dental caries.
