It emphasizes that dental professionals are expected to maintain high ethical conduct, skillful performance, and continuous education. The concept of the "Standard of Care" in dentistry is explored as a nuanced area, generally defined as the care and skill expected of a reasonably competent dentist in similar circumstances, which evolves with advancements. The article also addresses standards for dental publications, requiring originality, fair use of images, and honest data. The author shares observations from peer review, noting issues like agenda-driven articles and complicated academic language. Significantly, it highlights that AADEJ has outlined standards for the responsible use of AI in dental publications to prevent inaccurate or misleading information, stressing clear guidance for authors and publishers. The piece concludes by asserting that setting high standards is essential for innovative growth and effective leadership within the dental profession and its communication.
