Abstract
This quarter, AADEJ Executive Director Denise Maihofer highlights the constant nature of change and the AADEJ board's commitment to adaptability in evolving communication platforms and trends. She announces AADEJ's first webinar for 2025, "Guidance for Authors and Editors on the Use of Generative AI," held on March 20, which serves as a precursor to a comprehensive white paper on the subject. This webinar, free for renewed or new 2025 members, aims to provide a structured overview of generative AI's capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations, along with best practices for transparency and accuracy. Maihofer also shares "exciting news" about AADEJ partnering with the International College of Dentists (ICD) for its 2025 Annual Meeting, scheduled for September 9-10 in San Diego, preceding ICD’s annual meeting. She notes ICD's historical support, including a $5,000 grant for AADEJ's programming this year. Other announcements include a redesign of The Communicator for a "fresh, new look" and efforts to obtain AADEJ PACE Certification to simplify continuing education provision for members. She concludes by inviting members to volunteer and reminding them to renew their memberships.
