ADA Commons items include recommendations for methods to relieve work-related pain for dental professionals, guidance on aspirin use for pediatric dental patients, and other miscellaneous references.<p>

<p style="margin-left: 2em; margin-bottom: -1rem">ADA-endorsed guidelines for treatment of acute dental pain include the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen. NSAIDs have been shown to be more effective at reducing pain than opioid analgesics and are therefore recommended as the first-line therapy for acute pain management.</p>
